Searching for Used Cars… fast

I have been reliably informed that our web development team have been tinkering behind the scenes of www.visitcars.co.uk to make it run ALOT faster. How fast?..

up to 100% Faster!

So why am I blogging about this I hear you ask. Well cast your minds back to the old Auto Trader. It was simple, easy to use and nimble. It defined a new way for searching hundreds of thousands of cars online. Then one day, Autotrader went all out with a new system and complete redesign. This looks very good we all said, until we used it…

There have been so many complaints about the slow performance of autotrader. It just goes to show that responsiveness and speed are a key factor when searching for used cars online. We have always believed in this theory and think that visitcars.co.uk is an elegant, fast and easy way to search for your next car.

Heres to many more years of fast motoring information and classifieds.

You can only view the previous 3 recent searches, however you may then click on the save button to keep any number of searches for another time. Saved searches jump to the right hand coloumn, where you can manage your searches by deleting the ones you dont want.

How your Credit Rating is calculated

There are more factors than you may think when it comes to credit reference agencies calculating your credit score. Making sure you are aware of these can help you get accepted for car finance. Here is quick list of all the information given in a credit search:

  1. Profile information – This contains basic identity information.
  2. Electoral role – Lenders check this as a precaution against fraud
  3. Aliases – Other names you are known by or have used.
  4. Financial association – Refers to anyone you are financially connected to eg. joint accounts, etc.
  5. Public records – Records such as court judgments for non-payment of debts, any bankruptcies or individual voluntary arrangements (IVAs).
  6. Account information – Covers every account that gives you something of value – money, goods or services
  7. Repossession information – If you have given up your home or had it repossessed
  8. Previous searches – Shows the organisations that have seen your credit report within the past 12 months
  9. Linked addresses – All the addresses you have applied for credit from
  10. CIFAS – Data from CIFAS, the UK’s Fraud Prevention Service
  11. GAIN (Gone Away Information Network) – If you owe money and have moved without providing the lender with a forwarding address
